jackie's accepted 2023 calarts portfolio!!
hi there! i'm jackie, and i was recently accepted to calarts for character animation! i was rejected the year prior and i've learned a lot since then, so in addition to showing my full portfolio here, i'll be adding some notes about why i placed certain things in my portfolio and why i think it led to me getting accepted.
just as a disclaimer, anything i say about my work being accepted for a certain reason is purely speculative, as i can't know exactly what the judges were thinking. my main goal is to share my thought process and reasoning, and hopefully it helps you too!
in this package, you'll get access to all 31 of my portfolio pieces - 18 figure / observational drawings, 11 creative works, and 2 short films. you'll also be able to see my written artist statement! in addition to the actual content of my portfolio, you'll be given small notes on why i chose to make specific choices, and any advice i have on certain aspects of the portfolio. Just as a warning, it contains tasteful nude artwork, so if that isn't your thing then no worries! ^_^
